The 2-hour premiere airs tonight, Wednesday Sept 23, 8–10 PM ET/PT on CBS, streaming on Paramount+.

After the premiere, episodes go back to 90 minutes each week (Wednesdays). The finale will probably run long like always.

🌀 WTF is "The Open Era"??

This is the big new theme. Any advantage or twist from any past season can show up at any time, in any order. Idols, advantages, twists from the old days… all back in the toolbox.

Probst keeps saying the season is about permanent uncertainty — players are supposed to stop assuming they know what's coming. He even compared it to Season 1, when nobody knew the rules yet.

He told the cast they have "the privilege and the responsibility" to launch the new era. No pressure lol.

And yes, season 51 is back to all brand-new players after the all-star S50.

21 players ÷ 2 tribes = somebody's left over. In the CBS teaser, the castaways find pre-labeled buffs ("find your name, grab your buff") and a note warning that one of you will not begin the game with the others. Production seems to have hand-picked who. What happens to that person? Nobody knows yet!!
